Course Objectives: "Topics of Globalization & City Dynamics in Architecture"

Bu derste; dünyadaki küresel değişimin mimarlık üzerindeki etkilerinin incelenmesi ve konunun 1980 – 2013 yıllarına dair kent ve kent dinamikleri bağlamında analiz edilmesi konuları incelenmektedir. Ders, küreselleşmenin etkilerini kente dair coğrafi, tarihi, antropolojik ve estetik açılardan ve kültürel, kültürlerarası vb ilgili konular ile analiz etmektedir.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
I- Define the notions of “Globalization”, “City”, “Urbanization”, and “Metropoles”.

II- Analyze the impacts of the concept of globalization on cities,

III- State the relationship between the notions of globalization and city,

IV- Discuss the potentials of relations between globalization and urbanization concepts,

V- Interpret and cognize global buildings on architectural examples,

VI- Identify the social and physical effects of globalization with the context of city.
