Course Objectives: I.Examining various architectural arguments in terms of their context of evolution, that belong to different historical periods and contexts, getting involved with these debates and developing a critical position.
II. Analyzing architectural productions of various media, belonging to a particular historical period and context, reaching related sources and their evaluation.
III. Performance of group and individual projects and presentations, in and out of class.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
I.Develop awareness of the current interrelationship between architecture-theory-history-criticism.
II.Interpret the fact that textual narratives within architectural theory are pluralistic and thus historical.
III.Formulate and define new problems within architectural theory and apply the contemporary conceptual repertoir for discussions.
IV.Propose new links between architectural theory debates in general and architectural productions in Turkey and hence criticise comparatively.

Course Content

Texts and related architectural products of various media on issues defined and described in class in line with the theoretical context defined above comprise the content of this course.
