Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to give the actuarial student a general idea about the basic subjects under macro and micro economics so as to meet the requirements of the national exams. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Students will develop an understanding of macroeconomic analysis and interpret the economic environment with regard to inflation, investment returns, stock market behaviour, exchange rates and economic growth.This module will also give students the ability to understand the key aspects of the operation of markets, consumer demand, the production decisions of a firm, the determinants of market structure, and the effects of market structure on a firm's supply and pricing decisions. |
Macro economics: suuply and demand, macro economic policies,unemployment and income distribution, monetary and fiscal policies, economic growth and development, international trafe, inflation and stabilization. Micro economics: Consumer and supplier behavior, utility theory, production cost, market equilibrium and price theory, behavior of the firm and market competition. |
