Dersin Amacı: Dersin amacı, öğrencilere, özellikle dış politika alanında olmak üzere kamuoyunun önemi, anlamı, doğası ve ölçümleme yöntemleri hakkında teorik bilgi vermektir.
Kamuoyu ile soğuk savaş sonrası dönemdeki politikanın ilişkisi hakında öğrenciyi teorik ve pratik becerilerle donatır.

Bu dersi başarıyla tamamlayabilen öğrenciler;
Siyaset Bilimi ve Uluslararası İlişkiler alanı ile ilgili verilerin toplanması, yorumlanması, duyurulması ve uygulanması aşamalarında her şart altında toplumsal, bilimsel ve etik değerlere sahip olur ayrıca bilgilerini uzmanlık düzeyinde geliştirip derinleştirir.

Ulus devletten günümüze kadar uluslararası ilişkilerin coğrafi, kurumsal, yapısal, kavramsal ve kuramsal gelişimi; devletin siyasi, ekonomik ve hukuki temeli hakkında bilgi birikimine sahip olur. Uluslararası arenada çeşitli güvenlik sorunlarını, stratejilerini ve pratik sonuçları eleştirel olarak değerlendirebilir.

Dersin İçeriği

Dersin temelini belli başlı sorular oluşturmaktadır: Soğuk savaş sonrası dönemde haberlerin verilişi biçimi kamuoyunu ne derece etkilemektedir ve kitlelerin dış politika üzerindeki etkisi nedir? Medyanın, kitleleri etkilemekteki rolü liderlere göre nasıldır? Halkın dış politika hakkındaki görüşleri ne zaman dış politika adımlarına dönüşmektedir?
