Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to give an overview of data collection from the various stakeholders of universities. The topics of the course focuses on collecting data with regards to the following issues; student enrollment rates, student demographics, success and failure rates, student dropout rates and other related data that give insights to higher education administrators

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
I. Students will understand in what ways leaders at all levels within colleges and universities can effectively use data in the service of institutional improvement.
II. Students will learn and discuss methods for analysis of data from surveys, campus information systems, national data sources, and other sources to support continuous improvement in higher education settings.
III. Students will understand that evidence-based improvement efforts within higher education institutions are complex social, political, and symbolic processes.
IV. Students will discuss about functional applications that include areas such as enrollment management and admissions, supporting student learning both in and out of the classroom, enhancing faculty working life, interacting meaningfully with external audiences (e.g., as part of accreditation and other accountability processes), and mapping the landscape of peer and competitor institutions
