Course Objectives: Building the infrastructure of technical information on Reassurance, Fire and Agricultural Insurances. Examination of the sample policies, proporsal forms and claim files and to illustrate the application

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Define the concept of Reassurance.

2. Explain the operation the basic features of Reassurance.
3. To be able to recognize the features of the treaties of Reassurance .

4. To be able to explain the basic concepts of Fire Insurance plans.


5. To be able to explain the basic concepts of Agricultural Insurance plans.

6. To be able to calculate the price of insurance (Premium) according to branches.

Course Content

General informations related to Reassurance, its basic concepts and operation, Methods of Reassurance; Facultative Reinsurance, Proportional Reinsurance – Obligatory Reinsurance Treaties ( Quato Share and Surplus Reinsurance), Reinsurance Premium, Reinsurance Commission, Profit Commission, Loss and Clean Cut Basis; The methods of endings of Reassurance Treaties, Excess of Loss and Stop Loss Reinsurance, The basic rules of Fire Insurance plan, Fire Insurance and the riders,Fire Liability Insurance, DASK and Compulsory Earthquake Insurance, Loss of Profit Insurance

11) Fire Declaration Insurance, Valued Insurance, Agreed Value Insurance, Inflation – Indexed Insurance, First Loss Insurance.
