Course Objectives: The main purpose of this class is to define the insurance contracts in the private insurance field, specify the rights and the duties of the contracting parties and analyze the types of the insurance contracts.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
I. Defines main individuals of insurance law such as insurer, policy holder, insured.
II. Analyzes the method of investigation on insurance companies.
III. Distinguishes insurance contracts from the other contracts.
IV. Defines concepts like premium, risk, benefit.
V. Identifies the rights and obligations of insurer and policy holder.
VI. Determines the differences between life and property insurances.
VII. Defines beneficiary and determines the way of appointment.
VIII. Analyzes the circumstances that the insurer would be the successor.
