SCHOOL OF LAW

Starting offering education in the 2000-2001 academic year, the Faculty of Law raises young and highly qualified jurists who have a good command of principles of Turkish positive law as well as universal law and comparative law and fluently speak at least one foreign language in the profession. Through its academic staff consisting of experts in their fields, Bahçeşehir University’s Faculty of Law aims at becoming an ambitious education institution at international standards in areas of Turkish Law as well as international law and comparative law systems. The department offers a study program which includes compulsory courses required in faculties of law, elective courses such as virtual courses and clinical courses which are especially related to foreign law systems and applied law managed by expert practitioners, adopts Legal English, and offers projects combining those courses in a balanced curriculum. Since its foundation, the faculty has structured its curriculum in a way to comprehensively cover international law. The faculty establishes connections with Europe’s faculties of law through the ERASMUS exchange program and offers student and lecturer exchange opportunities during any semester.

Besides covering different law systems, the faculty enters into agreement with law faculties in the USA, and allows students to improve their experience in speaking English as a professional language and learn foreign law to an important extent through the Directorate of Global Law Programs (IGUL). The courses taken at overseas faculties of law with whom we have agreements are considered eligible at Bahçeşehir University. In this way, the faculty is integrated with international law education. Our graduates are admitted to master’s and graduate programs of leading law faculties in Europe and the USA.
