Course Objectives: This course emphasizes the use of computer as an integrated tool in design. Information on computer technology and its impact on the interior design profession are introduced. This course will teach the fundamentals of 3ds MAx software to illustrate the concepts and techniques.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
To develop general 3d presentation skills;
To develop an understanding of the generic aspects of Max;
To facilitate the use of the computer in design process;
To be able to deploy the 3d modelling systems effectively as a drafting and presentation tool.

Course Content

Introduction to 3ds Max user Interface and its components & 3D Drawing Creation with animation.
Different methods of applying commands.
Introduction to other animation softwares.

2) Introduction of Standard Primitives

4) Polygon Modelleme: Boolean operations, editing subobjects, Grouping types.
5) Poly Modeling: Nurbs and Surface modelling.
6) Poly modelling: Working with 2d plan. Using Door, Windows, staircase models.
7) Floor Plan Modelling: Working with 2d plan image
8) Floor Plan Modelling: Working with CAD files.
9) Floor Plan Modelling: Using the Materials Browser and Predefined Materials, Creating and Editing Materials, Overview of Lighting.
10) Midterm
11) Light Types and Cameras
12) Interior rendering with Arnold
13) Exterior rendering with Arnold
14) Visualization and rendering of a sample room
15) Final week
