Creating a cluster by the help of containers given in project brief, developing a user profile with a scenario, developing a design concept and finalizing interior dwelling space are expected from students.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
The students who take this course will
1. Analyze the given site and its environment
2. Analyze physical and environmental potentials of the given structure
3. Develop a user profile,
4. Analyze user's needs, goals, expectations, daily routines, workflow etc.
5. Define the spatial and functional requirements of the users,
6. Develop a program
7. Develop a design concept
8. Investigate material, color and furniture.
9. Prepare 1/100 and 1/50 models.
10. Prepare 1/100, 1/50 and 1/20 scale drawings.
11. Finalize design process by preparing for final jury with scale models and hand-drawings.

Course Content

INT 2001 Studio aims at designing a multi-functional living environment which will be served as a house of an artist that also consists of an atelier where he/she works on the artwork in addition to a sales unit by the use of container units that are going to be located in the courtyard of Bomontiada, Şişli. This living environment will be the resident of two people. Household profile (double income no kids (DINKS), a parent (mother/father) with a kid (for example a kid under 5 years of age, a primary school student, a high school student, a university student), elderly couple (older than 75 years old), two house sharing friends/relatives) will be chosen by the students as their customers for this project. In INT 2001 project, students will use container units as a rectangular module and design a cluster. It means, students will bring together the container units in order to create a living environment for its users.
