| Dersin Amacı: | Bu derste öğrenciler İstanbul’un 1950’lerden ama özellikle 1980’lerden sonra Türkiye’de uygulanan neoliberal ekonomi politikaları ve etkisini pek çok alanda gösteren küreselleşme ile nasıl değiştiğini, şehre farklı açılardan bakarak öğrenecekler. İstanbul’un bir küresel şehir olarak kabul edildiği ders boyunca öğrencilerin hem bir şehrin küreselleşme ile ilişkisini hem de İstanbul’un farklı katmanlarını görebilmesi ve bu katmanların değerini takdir etmeyi öğrenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Öğrencilerin derslere aktif katılımı ile küreselleşmenin anlamı, ekonomik boyutu, küreselleşme süreci ile İstanbul’un bağlantısı, İstanbul’un nasıl küreselleştiği, küreselleşmenin kentsel dönüşüm süreçlerine ve kentin kültür hayatına etkileri üzerine kendi fikirlerini geliştirmeleri ve bunları tartışmaları beklenmektedir. Ders farklı bölümlerden gelen öğrencilere küreselleşme, kentleşme, kentsel dönüşüm, yerinden edilme, farklılaşma gibi kavramları da tanıtmayı amaçlar. |

Bu dersi başarıyla tamamlayabilen öğrenciler; Bu dersin sonunda öğrencilerin kazanımları: 1. Küreselleşmenin ne olduğunu anlamak, 2. Şehirlerin gelişimi ve küreselleşmeleri hakkında bilgi edinmek 3. Türkiye’de planlı ekonomi dönemi ve neoliberal dönüşüm hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak 4. 1950’den beri Türkiye’deki kentleşmeyi İstanbul üzerinden görmek, 5. İstanbul’un küreselleşmeden ekonomik ve mekânsal nasıl etkilendiğini görmek, 6. Bu sürecin kentsel hafıza, kültür endüstrisi, yemek kültürü ve alışveriş alışkanlıkları gibi alanlarda etkilerini görmek 7. Bu farklı alanların zenginliğini takdir ederek, bu zenginliği hayatlarına katmak konusunda bilinç kazanmasını sağlamak olacaktır. |
