Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to address the understanding of the general features of various movements in Turkish Art. Architecture, painting, sculpture, textile, carpet weaving, glass and ceramics in Turkey from the eighteenth century to the present. Its evaluation in comparison with European and other art movements.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
•to describe the salient characteristics of Turkish-Islamic painting tradition
•to discover the ushers of Turkish painting and their styles
•to evaluate the Turkish art trends with the ones in the world
•to describe the development of fine arts in Turkey
•to analyze the Turkish fine arts
•to criticize the implementations of fine arts in Turkey

Focuses on the developement of contemporary Turkish art starting with Westernization Period to the present and the Work of master and outstanding artists are being study
