Recommended Optional Program Components: | Students will be finishing the course through a project which they will be modelling their designs in Rhinoceros. They are advised to apply some design competitions which will bring them their first professional criticism. |
Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to teach the students 3D modelling through a 3D modelling program called Rhinoceros. Achiving this makes it easier to evaluate and evolve the designs of the students. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1- The designs of the students can be modelled by Rhinoceros, an easy to use 3d modelling program. 2- To be able to see the design in 3D make it easier to specify the elements that will interact with the design. That makes it easier to evaluate and evolve it. 3- To be able to manufacture the design with the model in Rhinoceros. (CAM) 4- To be able to analyse the design with the model in Rhinoceros. (CAE) 5- To be able to present the model in a photorealistic render. 6- Discuss the role of CAD in different contexts and its influence on design and manufacturing processes in areas of specialist practice 7- Use 2D and 3D CAD software to produce visualisations and technical drawings 8- Present drawings and renderings, for a given project, produced using CAD software 9- Evaluate the way in which CAD software may integrate into production processes. |
1- Introduction Introduction to basic Rhinoceros tools. Introduction to basic geometric theories. 2- Creating Geometry Creating and editing 2D drawings. 3- 3D Modelling & Editing 3D Modelling tools. 3D editing and analyse tools. 4- Custimizing Workspaces and Toolbars Custimizing the workspace to the needs of the user. |
