Course Objectives: The aim of this course is provide student with an understanding of the management processes required to maintain business systems post-implementation, provide students with an overview of business systems management issues and concepts, provide students with an understanding of the management skills needed to plan, develop, implement and operate information systems that are integrated with corporate objectives and provide students with a detailed understanding of help desk and support processes.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Identify IS/IT governance issues as part of business systems management post implementation
2. Define service level management and
explain the functions, processes and success factors of service management
3. Describe and explain the role of the service desk and the management of user support structures and processes
4. Explain the processes and functions of ITIL Service Operations
5. Describe and discuss appropriate IT management practices including outsourcing, personnel management, and IT asset management
6. Establish knowledge and skills to manage business systems and their environments post implementation
7. Describe enterprise-wide issues concerning ongoing business information systems
8. Describe issues related to the support phase of the systems development life cycle

Course Content

The content of this course is composed of an introduction to the unit introduction to IT governance/ITSM, service management as a practice, common service operation activities, help desk management, incident management, problem management, access management / request fulfillment / event management, implementing ITIL / IT HRM, service level management, asset Lifecycle management.
