Course Content

domestic interior typologies - design approaches according to the relation between city and dwelling, public and private life in Ancient Time around the Mediterranean region, Greek and Roman period, Medieval times, Renaissance and Baroque periods, Victorian time, Industrialization period, early modern - modern, (post)modern and late modern Times and in the 21. century

1) Pre-Urban House: Public and private urban life, relation between urban and dwelling, domestic interior in ancient times: Çatalhöyük research and readings on the subject
2) TRADITIONAL URBAN HOUSE / GREEK HOUSE: PRESTYLE HOUSE: Public and private urban life, cities, relation between city and dwelling, domestic interior typology and design approaches in Greek Ancient period: Millet, Ephesos, Pergamon, Delos, Olbia and Sardinen research and readings on the subject
3) ROMAN URBAN HOUSE: DOMUS, Public and private life in Roman times: relation between urban and dwelling, domestic interior typology and design approaches: houses of Roman Vetti and Sallust research and readings on the subject
4) MEDIEVAL HOUSE, Public and private life, relation of city and dwelling, domestic interior typology in medieval times: houses of Roman Pansa and Guilio research and readings on the subject
5) HOUSE IN RENAISSANCE, history of urban public and private life, relation between city and dwelling, domestic interior design typologies in the renaissance period: A rich man house in Urbina, A christian house in Haleppo research and reading on the subject
