Course Objectives: This course emphasizes the use of computer as an integrated tool in design. Information on computer technology and its impact on the interior design profession are introduced. This course will teach the fundamentals of 3ds MAx software to illustrate the concepts and techniques.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
To develop general 3d presentation skills;
To develop an understanding of the generic aspects of Max;
To facilitate the use of the computer in design process;
To be able to deploy the 3d modelling systems effectively as a drafting and presentation tool.

Course Content

Introduction to 3ds Max user Interface and its components & 3D Drawing Creation with animation.
Different methods of applying commands.
Introduction to other animation softwares.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents

1) Final.
1) Navigating the 3ds max interface. Exploring the Max interface. Controlling and configuring the viewports.
2) Working with files and objects. Importing, exporting , creating primitive objects.
3) Working with objects. Using different creation methods as Keyboard entry, Create Panel.
4) Selecting Objects and Setting Object Properties. Selection methods, Hide, Freeze and Layer commands.
5) Creating Shapes with Splines. Using and editing line commands.
6) Editing Meshes and creating complex objects. Using mesh edit commands and Lofting command.
7) Midterm
8) Creating AEC objects. Using Wall, doors, Windows and stair commands.
9) Organising and editing Objects. Creating Blocks, Groups and editing them.
10) Light and Shadow. Light types and placing them in viewport.
11) Enhencing Models with Materials. Appliying materials and material types.
12) Using Max cameras. Camera types, placing and animating them.
13) Exporting files for aother softwares as autocad, photoshop and Luion from Max. Quiz. Saving files in other formats as 3ds, dwg, dae and enhancing them in other softwares.
14) Introduction to other Animation Softwares. Introducing softwares as Lumion, Twinmotion and Maya.
15) Continuing to Introduction to other Animation Softwares. Introducing softwares as Lumion, Twinmotion and Maya.
