Course Objectives:	The objective of this course * to introduce the students to Women’s Studies where they will explore gender as a variable that explains socio-economic status of women in the world that we live in. * to give them a clear understanding of the major movements of feminist thought and related areas of the body of knowledge making up the field of Women's Studies.

Students who complete this course will:

* learn the terminology related to feminist studies
• learn about key feminist theorist and critics
• learn about feminist literary criticism and other related schools of criticism
