5) Explains the definition of clothing as a means of communication;
6) Analyzes post-millennial global fashion design trends in youth subcultures.

Course Content

This course focuses on society through the city, culture and subcultures, and the reflection of subcultures in clothing design. First, concepts related to culture and society, such as culture, popular culture, and subculture, will be defined, and how these concepts are reflected in the city center and its surrounding areas will be examined. The differences between the city's central and periphery areas will be examined, and the shantytowns, slums, ghettos, and peripheral neighborhoods that, along with the city center, provide the basis for the emergence and shaping of subcultures will be defined.
