Course Objectives: This course offers students a detailed analysis of international issues that have an effect on diplomacy. It features a unique design based on first-hand experiences to be shared every week by an embassy or consulate representative. Students will have comprehensive insight into the changing nature of diplomacy, diplomatic procedures and diplomatic correspondence from the respective viewpoints of listed states.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Define diplomacy and related concepts;
2. Interpret the changing nature of diplomacy;
3. Grasp the intricacies of diplomatic correspondence;
4. Compare and contrast the diplomatic principles and practices of various states;
5. Develop competencies with respect to active inquiry and critical thinking.

Course Content

Lectures by diplomats from a variety of countries, to be followed by Q&A. The course is integrated with another course on COURSERA titled “Global Diplomacy-Diplomacy in the Modern World”. The students have to complete the requirements of this course for their 20%of grade.
