Course Objectives: | Course Objectives By 2030, ensure that all students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to advance sustainable development through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, promoting a culture of human rights, gender equality and peace, world citizenship, and recognition of the contribution of cultural diversity and culture to sustainable development. Students who complete this course internalize the contribution of the Sustainable Development Goals to society and the world, develop local and global solutions to them, and disseminate these goals by applying them in all areas of life. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Students completing this course; 1. Defines sustainable development goals and develops awareness on this issue. 2. This course helps students act collaboratively within and outside of their disciplines, roles, perspectives, and values. 3. Understands the concepts of inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work, including gender equality, peace, and justice, and has knowledge of alternative economic models and indicators. 4. The student makes sense of the world as an interconnected whole and makes connections in our social and natural environment and considers the consequences of actions. 5. Knows the different dimensions of inequality, their relationships, and applicable statistics. Knows indicators that measure and explain inequalities and understand their relevance to decision making. 6. Learns the concepts of inclusion, diversity and equality and puts them into practice. 7. Understands that inequality is a fundamental driver for social problems and individual dissatisfaction. Can identify and analyze different types of causes of inequalities. 8. Recognizes all forms of violence and embraces the development of a nonviolent culture. 9. Can empathize with and show solidarity with people who are discriminated. |
This course will introduce students to the Sustainable Development Goals and discuss the measures to be taken to achieve them. Thus, it will raise awareness about sustainability in students, their families, friends, and society |
