Course Objectives: Assessment methods in intensive care unit patients, usage of life support equipment in clinical monitorization and assessment, mechanical ventilation, physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods, clinical decision making.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Gains knowledge and skill in effective evaluation of patient's systems in intensive care unit and interpretations of findings. Defines patient selection and evaluation methods in intensive care unit. Gains knowledge and skill in planning relevant physiotherapy and rehabilitation interventions, clinical decision making and implementation. Gains skill in assessment of life support equipments and accessory devices. Comprehends use of life support equipments and accessory devices in evaluation, clinical monitorization, and treatment in intensive care unit.

Course Content

Pathophysiology and rehabilitation of critical illness and respiratory failure, evaluation in intensive care patients, use of life support equipment in clinical monitoring and evaluation, mechanical ventilation, physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications, clinical decision making.
