Course Objectives: To use the devices and equipment used in opticianry actively and to gain manual dexterity by practicicing the procedures to be done in professional life.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To gain the ability to apply the lenses to tha frame and adapt to the user,
2) Providing prismatic effect with different methods and gaining the ability to apply to frame mounting,
3) To be able to make step-by-step process steps consisting of institution contracts, acceptance of official prescriptions, preparation and invoicing of required documents,
4) To be able to gain knowledge about the methods of sales of visual devices and service delivery in an optician establishment,
5) To have knowledge about the production of eyeglass lenses, to be able to use it correctly in sales and service offerings,
6) To know the legal regulations about opticianry.

Course Content

Multifocal lenses, bifocal lenses, progressive lenses, bifocal glass mounting. Surface treatment-supplying desired prismatic effect and different ways, providing desired prismatic effect with descent, providing desired prismatic effect with prismatic lens, providing desired prismatic effect with fresnel prism, mounting glass to facet frames

1) Measurement of bifocal lenses in manual and digital fokometers, closed frame assembly according to face dimensions
2) Measurement of bifocal lenses on fokometers, mounting to closed frame according to face dimensions
3) Measurement of progressive lenses in manual and digital photometers, mounting in closed frame according to face dimensions
4) Measurement and assembly methods of prismatic lenses on digital focometers
5) Measurement and assembly methods of prismatic lenses on digital focometers
6) Installation methods of Fresnel prism
7) Midterm exam
8) Assembling methods of low vision aids
9) Prismatic lenses measurement in the manuel and digital phocometre in accordance to face measurement
10) Installation techniques of Fresnel prisma
11) Installation techniques of helper objects for law vision
12) Installation techniques of helper objects for law vision
13) Installation techniques of helper objects for law vision
14) Installation of organic and mineral glass in facet and nilor frame according to face dimensions
