Course Objectives: This course aims to provide an understanding of advanced architectural research methodologies for research activities pertaining to the field of design, theory, history, technology, and sustainability in architecture. Within that context, qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research design will be overviewed through examples to pave the way for reasoning on the appropriate method for the selected topic.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
The students will gain the ability to benefit from interdisciplinary studies and apply the concepts and methods of different disciplines to develop an innovative method for architectural research. Moreover, discussions on ethical responsibilities of researchers and how to develop writing strategies will be carried out.

Course Content

Course comprises of research methods in architecture; designing a research, literature review, data collection, evaluation, interpretation and presentation.
