Course Objectives: The qualitative research course aims to introduce qualitative research techniques, which are becoming increasingly common in educational research, in an applied manner. Qualitative research represents a research paradigm rooted in a different scientific philosophy and tradition. In this respect, it significantly differs from quantitative methods in terms of assumptions, methodologies, data, and analysis approaches. Researchers planning to conduct qualitative research in the future must be equipped with knowledge, skills, and methodologies that differ considerably from quantitative methods. This course, therefore, aims to introduce students to the philosophy of qualitative research, its fundamental assumptions, types of data, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques in an applied manner.
