| Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to provide information about the formation process, layers and structure of the early Ottoman society in the process of the Ottoman Empire from the principality to the empire, the relations with the conquered peoples of the region, the introduction of first-hand sources and how to use these sources. |

The students who have succeeded in this course; Students taking this course; 1. Learn the sources they will use in their reading of Ottoman history and how they will use them. 2. Have knowledge about the foundation of the Ottoman Empire while analyzing historical sources. |
| The first additional sources in Ottoman history, the use of these sources and their effects on Ottoman political, military and social life. The teaching methods of the course are classical learning methods of lecture and problem solving. |
