Course Objectives: | One of the course's objectives is to help students understand different legal concepts. However, the main purpose is to lay a foundation for the students to use in their future professional careers. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1. The relevance and role of social order norms in social life; 2. The essential characteristics of other rules of social conduct ( moral rules, religious rules, and rules of good manners) and their relationship with legal rules; 3. The history of secularization in the Republic of Turkey, and how legal regulations address religious concerns; 4. The characteristics of legal rules that distinguish them from other rules of social order; 5. The procedure for enforcing legal rules, along with concepts such as the burden of proof, presumptions, and interpretation; 6. The sources of law and their fundamental qualities; 7. The Turkish judicial organization and the powers of courts, especially the supreme courts; 8. World legal systems and their distinguishing features; 9. The foundation of the division between public and private law; 10. The fundamental principles of the law of persons; 11. The fundamental principles of family law and its institutions; 12. The fundamental principles of succession law; 13. The fundamental principles of property law; and 14. The fundamental principles of the law of obligations. |
