Course Objectives: To explain the purpose, scope and importance of health services and examine the systems and institutions that produce health services in detail. The most important service delivery organization in health management is to understand the definition, functioning, administrative features of the hospital organization and the health manager's issues related to the hospital organization.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Understanding the concept of health and its determinants, the effects of environment, heredity and lifestyle on health

Learn the purpose, scope and importance of health care.

Learn health services, health system, systems and institutions that produce health service.

The aims, organizational structure, current state and functioning of the Turkish health system and its subsystems

Preventive health system, treatment services, rehabilitation services, characteristics of health institutions, use of health services, factors affecting utilization and characteristics of effective health care.

Learns the classification and functioning of hospitals.

The hospital management learns the historical development of the profession and the characteristics of the hospital manager.

Learn about hospital management and organization and departments and functions of hospital.

The hospital learns about the latest developments in the sector and the effects of these developments on hospital management.

Course Content

70% attendance is compulsory. Health concept and determinants; Health system, health care systems and institutions in Turkey and its aims, organizational structure, current status and functioning Definition of hospital, definition of health management, Functions and characteristics of hospitals that distinguish hospitals from other institutions Classification and functioning of hospitals Historical development of the hospital management profession and the required characteristics of the hospital manager Hospital management and organization and departments and functions of the hospital. Recent developments in the hospital sector and the effects of these developments on hospital management
