Course Objectives: The aim of this curse is to introduce forensic medicine to third grade medical students.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of this course, students will:
Define death
List the types of death
List the changes in human body after death
Describe Identification of unknown person, dead bodies and remains of a person by age, sex, stature, dental examination, scars, moles, tattoos, dactylography, DNA typing and personal belonging including photographs
Define medico-legal and clinical/pathological autopsies., their objectives, procedures, formalities.
describe how preservation of body fluids & viscera in suspected poisoning.

Course Content

This course consists of theoretical knowledge necessary for understanding of what forensic medicine practice does, such as death and dying, poisoning, child abuse, sexual asault, age estimation from bones, x-rays, and dentititon. The autopsy observations will be done at the govermental institutions in agreement.
