Course Objectives: At the end of this committee, students will gain knowledge about the mechanisms underlying the development of the gastrointestinal system and metabolic disorders and pathogenesis of the disorders related to this system. They will also gain knowledge about the signs and symptoms, related risk factors, prevention and diagnosis and principles of treatment of these disorders

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of this committee students will be able to
1. define the molecular and genetic mechanisms and pathologic processes in gastrointestinal system and metabolic disorders

2. gain knowledge about microorganisms that affect the gastrointestinal system and its infections

3. gain knowledge about the risk factors related to gastrointestinal system and metabolic disorders and preventive measures

4. gain knowledge about the major signs and symptoms of these disorders

5. gain knowledge about the approach to diagnosis, and principles of treatment in gastrointestinal and metabolic disorders

Course Content

The content of this committee includes defining the molecular, genetic and pathological mechanisms underlying pathogenesis of gastrointestinal system and metabolic disorders, clinical and radiological diagnosis and therapeutic approaches.

1) Introduction to molecular and genetic mechanisms, symptoms and signs and symptoms of the gastrointestinal system disorders, pathological and radiological diagnosis -
2) Molecular and genetic mechanisms of diseases arise from defects in metabolic pathways, their pathogenesis, pathogeneiss of diabetes and dyslipidemia -
3) Esophagus, stomach, colon and small intestine disorders, clinical and radiological features, approaches to treatment , signs and symptoms and pharmacology of drugs used in these disorders -
4) Liver, pancreas and bile system disorders : clinical and radiological features, signs and symptoms, approaches to treatment and pharmacology of drugs used in these disorders -
5) Clinical basis of infectious organisms affecting gastrointestinal system disorders, their pathogenesis in infectious process , approaches to treatment and the pharmacotherapy of these disorders -
