Course Objectives: After completion of this course commitee, the students are to define, anatomy, histology, physiology, functional properties and embryological development of organs forming urogenital system, as well they are to use these in the clinical settings.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
o Lists organs forming urogenital system, defines their anatomical features and interrelationships, points them and their neighborhood on the cadaver and identifies on radiologic images
o Differentiate histological organization of organs forming urogenital systems in both female and male and describe the structure-function relationship
o Define pituitary ovarian axis
o Define the pituitary testicular axis
o Interpret the formation of placenta and fetal membranes and their functions
o Describe the development stages of baby (Trimesters)
o Describe the hormonal changes taking place in pregnancy and postpartum

Course Content

Anatomy covers organs forming urogental system; the knowledge given is consolidated on cadaver and radiologic images. Histology and embryology lectures cover histology and embryology of urogenital system organs. As well physiology contains functions of these organs. Medical biology covers developmental genetic and cancer genetic. Medical genetics clarifies genetic basis of infertility. Medical pharmacology gives their introduction lectures.

1) Anatomy of urinary system. Histological features of urinary system and its physiology. -
2) Anatomy of genital system and radiologic images of urogenital system. Development and histological features of male genital system and its physiology. Biochemistry of the male sex hormone. -
3) Anatomy of genital system and radiologic images of urogenital system. Fetus images. Development and histological features of female genital system and its physiology. Biochemistry of the female sex hormone. Sexual behaviour in human and hormones. Infertility Genetics. -
4) Sexual response in female and sexual reproduction, sexual response in male and erectile function. Physiology of reproductive hormones. Molecular mechanisms of cancer genetics, developmental genetics. The structure of the placenta and amniotic sac and biochemical properties. Introduction to perinatology. Physiology of pregnancy and lactation. -
5) Histology of mammary gland. Molecular mechanisms of cancer genetics. Adolescence. Genetic counseling, risk calculator. Regulation of cell cycle. Introduction to pharmacology. Course exam -
