Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach histology and the development of connective tissue, to give the information about anatomic features of the muscles of the human body together with practice sessions and case presentations.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Counts all the muscles of human body together with their anatomic location, nerves and vessels
2. Counts all the muscles of human body together with their anatomic lcation, nerves and vessels
3. Lists which muscle causes which movement
4. Explains the physiology of skeletal muscle
5. Explains radiologic features of muscles

Muscular anatomy, histology, physiology

Weekly Detailed Course Contents

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Theoretically the histology and the development of connective tissue, cartilage and bone will be explained and the knowledge given is going to be substantiated with practical session. After anatomical introduction to muscle and joints, back muscles are going to be explained and the knowledge given is going to be supported with practical sessions. -
2) The development and histology of muscle is going to be explained by class lectures and practical sessions. The anatomy of shoulder muscles is going to be explained. Injection practices are going to be held in clinical skills lessons. Microbiology will explain eukaryotic microorganisms and genetics will cover genetic properties of muscles. -
3) The anatomy of lower extremity muscles, physiology and biophysics of muscles is going to be explained in class and laboratory practices. -
4) The anatomy and imaging of abdominal and foot muscles, and biophysical principles of muscular work is going to be explained. -
5) The anatomy of facial muscles is going to be explained. The imaging properties of muscles will be strengthened by practical applications. Course exam. -
