| Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and perspective required to design qualitative research in the field of educational sciences. In other words, it seeks to convey the philosophical and theoretical foundations of qualitative research and outline the steps involved in a qualitative research process. Within this scope, the course aims for students to gain hands-on experience with the qualitative research process, analyze data according to qualitative research standards, and report their findings. |

The students who have succeeded in this course; You will gain the ability to understand the philosophical and theoretical foundations of qualitative research approaches and to select and apply appropriate methods. You will develop the ability to effectively use data collection techniques such as interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and document analysis within a suitable research design. You will acquire the competence to systematically analyze qualitative data using methods such as content analysis, thematic analysis, and descriptive analysis in accordance with scientific standards. You will gain the ability to design a qualitative research study that aligns with research questions, organize data collection processes, and conduct these processes within ethical guidelines. You will develop the skill to report research findings according to academic standards and express them effectively in written form. You will enhance your ability to present findings effectively at academic meetings, conferences, or seminars and contribute to scientific discussions. You will acquire an understanding of ethical principles in qualitative research and the ability to adhere to these principles. You will gain the ability to interpret qualitative research findings within the context of existing literature, integrate research results into scientific discussions, and engage in critical thinking. You will develop the ability to identify methodological, ethical, and practical challenges that may arise during the research process, devise solutions, and generate alternative approaches. You will acquire the competence to critically analyze and refine the methods, tools, and techniques used in qualitative research processes. You will gain the ability to collaborate in the qualitative research process, participate in academic discussions, and engage in interdisciplinary communication. |
