Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide knowledge about the legal definition and types of domestic violence, its place in Turkish and international law, victims’ rights, and protection mechanisms; and to enable students to manage legal processes effectively within the counseling context.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Defines the concept and types of domestic violence.

Explains the legal regulations on domestic violence in the Turkish legal system.

Interprets the scope of Law No. 6284.

Analyzes the Istanbul Convention and other international legal documents.

Identifies and advocates for victims' rights.

Provides legally-informed guidance in the counseling process.

Explains protection and support mechanisms for victims.

Learns judicial reporting and application processes.

Evaluates the role of family courts.

Explains inter-agency cooperation in combating domestic violence.

Distinguishes ethical and legal responsibilities.

Develops the ability to prioritize client safety in counseling.
