| Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to introduce the basic theories in the field of family counselling, to examine the historical development of these theories, their basic concepts, their applications in the therapeutic process and their contributions to the counselling process. In addition, it is aimed that students will be able to evaluate these theories from a critical perspective and apply them in case analyses. |

The students who have succeeded in this course; Students who successfully complete this course; Explains the historical development of family counselling. Defines the basic theories used in family counselling. Explains the basic concepts, techniques and the role of each theory in the counselling process. Compare the similarities and differences between theories. Evaluates the relationship between family structures and theories in cultural context. Shows how the theories can be applied on case examples. Discusses ethical principles in family counselling in the context of theoretical approaches. Critically evaluate the strengths and limitations of the theories. Makes a detailed case formulation by choosing one of the theories. Determines and justifies the theoretical approach appropriate to his/her own counselling style. |
