Course Objectives: This course is designed to familiarize the students with critical issues that occupy the agenda of International Relations (IR) in the new millennium. It offers a survey of some major IR concepts, theories and events that shape contemporary world politics. The course traces the evolution and the impact of these elements with respect to different corners of the world.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Define the pressing issues of the IR in the new millenium;
2. Grasp the historical evolution of certain actors, concepts and approaches in IR;
3. Evaluate the legal and ethical dimensions of contemporary warfare and related technologies;
4. Assess the effectiveness of various conflict management practices at the state and organizational levels;
5. Develop competencies with respect to active inquiry, critical thinking, collaborative exploration and supportive interactions.
