Course Objectives: Upon completion of the required course load, program participants will select a topic from their studies for further exploration and analysis. Over the period of one semester, the student-teacher will design and conduct a research study that addresses this topic. Project differs from classes in its self-directed nature; however, the student-teacher will also receive guidance from his/her advisor.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Preparing a project provides an opportunity for the student-teacher to apply a topic of interest to a practical context. Through this process, the student-teacher will gain familiarity with a given topic and lay the foundation for specialization in a given area.

Course Content

The student-teacher will work through the series of steps listed below. He/she will meet with an advisor who will guide the process on a weekly basis.

-Project Proposal which includes a justification for the project, defining research questions, and an outline of the proposed plan for data collection as well as techniques for data analysis
-Literature review which summarizes all relevant sources in a cogent format
-Data collection
-Data analysis
-Answers to the research question(s) and conclusions
-Project report writing and editing
-Project report submission
