Course Objectives: The objectives of this course are current health issues and policies reflected in the ethical theories and principles of a thorough examination, students ethical decision-making and policy analysis for the various theoretical models, presenting health care management in the field of social, economic and legal issues and current trends’ analysis through case studies.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Relate ethical theories and principles to professional practice and health policy development.
2. Investigate current and future social/legal and economic issues as they relate to the ethics of professional practice and health care delivery.
3. Propose appropriate interventions for the resolution of specific professional dilemmas.
4. Utilize a systematic ethical framework to analyze a current health policy specific to the student's professional role and clinical population.

Course Content

This course covers Ethics and its Role in Health Care Management, Moral Theories, Research Ethics and Informed Consent, Confidentiality in Medical Information, Deciding for Others, End of Life Ethics, Paying for Health Care, Moral Integrity & Practicing as an Ethical Healthcare Administrator.
