Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is enable students to gain knowledge about the concepts of health, disease and health services with the importance of management science in healthcare, private and public healthcare services, health economics, and sağlık ekonomisi ve financing of health services, TQM in healthcare services, manpower planning in health care, health services of the Ministry of Health in Turkey and public health legislation.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
o Understand the elements of the conceptual basis of the concepts of health and illness,
o Evaluate the importance of health care and healthcare management science,
o Classify the private and public health services,
o Explain the health economics, health care financing,
o Understand total quality management approach in healthcare,
o Explain the manpower planning in healthcare,
o Classify the health organizations,
o Interpret information about the work of the Ministry of Health and healthcare services in Turkey,
o Explain the general information about the healthcare legislation.

Course Content

This couese covers the elements of the conceptual basis of the concepts of health and illness, the importance of healthcare and healthcare management science, private and public healthcare services, health economics, healthcare financing, total quality management approach in healthcare, manpower planning in healthcare, health organizations, the Ministry of Health and healthcare services in Turkey, healthcare legislation.
