Course Objectives: The objectives of this course are enable students to gain knowledge about the basic concepts of microeconomics, and to reply “what, how, where, for whom, and how” to be produced, to determine the main problems of the economy, to determine the structure of economy and theoretical framework.

Learning Outcomes

o Explain the questions about what, how, where, and who is to be produced for,
o Summarize the main issues of the economy,
o Explain the theory of consumer,
o Explain the theory of producer,
o Explain the cost theory,
o Explain supply and demand analysis,
o Explain the theory of price,
o Explain the market mechanism,
o Summarize the concept of a national economy and national income,
o Summarize the concept of a national income.

Course Content

This course covers economic system and general characteristics of the economic systems, the concept of scarcity and the production possibilities curve, and concepts of the opportunity and alternative cost, cycle of economic activities, the concepts of supply-demand and graphical representation, optimality criteria that are used to solve economic problems in terms of flexibility, balance in a variety of markets, concepts of national income, employment, inflation.
