Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to explain the relationship between architecture and the city. In this context, urban identity and urban image are being discussed. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1. Comprehending the relationship between architecture and the city. 2. Analyze the built environment critically as an urban laboratory. 3. Discover the urban dynamics, structures and processes that construct the built-environment. 4. Be able to read and analyze various urban layers and transform them into a network of topological relations as a design input. |
Explains the relationship between architecture and the city. Analyzes a given urban site to find out the urban factors and urban dynamics affecting the urban identity. Discusses the image of İstanbul and the urban identity related to the globalization process of İstanbul. |
