Course Objectives: The objective of the course is to to guide students in the development and preparation of their research proposals and expose students to various philosophical theories related to their research areas and, methodologies and strategies used in architectural research. Basically, the course aims to familiarize the students with the design, conduct, evaluation and presentation processes of research in architecture and guide them develop a detailed research plan for their thesis project.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1.Construct a viable research process,
2.Grasp the essence of quantitative and qualitative research methods,
3.Collect rich data using a variety of methods,
4.Analyse and interpret the data,
5.Write proposals for essays with the evaluated data.

Course Content

Introduction of primary approaches on sesearch methodologies in architecture; designing the research Process, Literature Review; Data collection, evaluation and interpretation; Presentation of the findings.
