Course Objectives: | In this course, it is aimed to mention environmental impacts of transport sector and studies of reduction of environmental problems due to transport. Energy use and transportation-related air pollution, noise pollution caused by traffic and other environmental impacts caused by transportation (climate change, greenhouse gases, acid rain, soil and water deterioration) will be described. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; A student completing this course; I. analyze the effects of the transport sector on the environment II. Classify fuels (solid, liquid and gaseous fuels) III. Examines the kinetics of combustion reactions IV. Analyze the combustion in engines V. Air pollution issues are viewed in detail and classifies contaminants VI. Examines the effects of air pollution to the transport sector VII. Analyzes the effects of transport sector to noise pollution and human health VIII. Generate ideas for the reduction of environmental problems resulting from transport IX.Examines European Union Common Transport Policies X. Examines the transport policies in urban areas and assess the sustainability of the transport |
Introduction, concepts, energy usage, air pollution originating from transportation, noise pollution originating from traffic, area usage in transportation, traffic accidents, traffic jam, other environmental effects of transportation (climate change, greenhouse gases, acid rain, damage of soil and water, fragmentation effect). Researching of environmental effect parameters in transportation modes. |
