Course Objectives: | This course is designed for graduate engineering students to give the fundamental concepts of project management. The course provides project definition, project budgeting, scheduling, planning with CPM and PERT, resource allocation, time and cost analyses, monitoring/information system and controlling, earned value method. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; - Grasp the basic principles of modern project management - Evaluate a project plan - Schedule a project by collecting numerical data about the stages of the project - Conclude whether the project continues according to the plan in terms of schedule, budget and management - Apply the project management and scheduling techniques on a practical problem - Use a project management software (MS Project) - Manage a project in MS Project from start to finish |
Principles on building a global project plan based on project management standards. Using project constraints such as cost, scope and time to evaluate a project and determine the best selection. Clearly stating project objectives and establishing a capable project team in order to maximize the project performance. Analysis of project components in order to reduce duration and mitigate risk. |
