Course Objectives: This doctoral course provides an in-depth overview of the topics and reviews the major approaches and literature in SC&LM area. One of the key objectives of the course is to expose candidates to core research concepts in the area of supply chain and logistic management.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1: Describe and explain the fundamental research areas in supply chain management.
2: Critique and extend the models and techniques that will enable to make optimal decisions on designing and distributing products as well as planning transportation activities in a supply chain.

Course Content

SC&LM is concerned with the efficient integration of suppliers, factories, warehouses and stores so that merchandise is produced and distributed in the right quantities, to the right locations, at the right time in order to minimize total system cost and satisfy customer service requirements. To this end, the following areas are investigated for research gaps in the literature: SC strategy and performance metrics, network design and transportation, planning demand and capacity, inventories, sourcing decisions, coordination, green supply chains.
