Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to convey to students how architecture, beyond being merely a construction process or an end product, is shaped during the process of transferring ideas into tangible outcomes and how the underlying "ideas" influence design. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; I. Define the etymological roots of the concept of tectonics in architecture. II. Explain how changing "ideas" influence the architectural end product. III. Evaluate the reasons behind shifts and thresholds in the concept of form within architectural history through the lens of tectonic theory. IV. Critically analyze contemporary architectural developments using tectonic theories. |
