Course Objectives: Teaching the Spanish language to students at the A1.1 level.The student can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of the course, you will be able to:

1.Being able to briefly introduce yourself.
2.Being able to briefly introduce the people around you.
3.Being able to express what you want when you go somewhere and briefly communicate with the other person.
4.Being able to talk about colors, numbers, and the place you live.
5.Being able to engage in a dialogue in a store.
6.can talk about their interests, needs and motives

Course Content

The aim of this course is to make students, who are Basic Users in the scope of Common European Framework of Reference, achieve A1 level, which is named as Breakthrough.
In our course, teaching methods and techniques will be used such as narration, educational games, group work, technology-supported learning, individual work, project preparation and reading.

1) • Introduction to the Course. • Greeting, introduction, and farewell • Pronunciation and simple questions and answers used to get to know the person you are talking to. • Students learn greeting and introduction phrases through repetition and dialogue. • Students learn by hearing and pronouncing sounds.
2) • Personal Pronouns • Meet • Personal Information • Alphabet • Learning the sounds of the language through listening and pronunciation.
3) • Professions, countries and nationalities. • Gender (Masculine, feminine), Singular, plural. • Verbs: The verb to be called, to have, and to be. • Teaching verb conjugations through repetition, simple sentences and exercises.
4) • Numbers (0-100) • Verbs: The verb to be called, to have, and to be. • Present Tense regular verb conjugations. • Teaching verb conjugations through repetition, simple sentences and exercises. • Learning numbers with the Kahoot game.
5) • Aula Internacional Plus -2nd unit • Conjugation and usage of the verb to want • Definite, indefinite preposition (el, la, los, las) • Using the verb to want and teaching definite and indefinite prepositions with exercises.
