Course Objectives: | This course explores the Middle East using theoretical and historical approaches. Topics covered include: the legacies of colonialism; the Middle East regional system, the impact of the international system on the middle east, the challenge of security in the region.' Students will be exposed to the key historical and theoretical concepts necessary to understand the Middle East as a critical region of the world. The focus will be aslo on the current situation in the Middle East and the U.S.'s role in the region. |
