Course Objectives: | Courses objective is to make students have the fundamental knowledges and discussing ability about the increasingly important subject ¨data protection¨. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; - express the basic concepts of data protection law; - recognize the significiant impact of surveillance technologies both in social and legal context - develop legal argumentation in cases related to the personal data protection - understand the importance of basic principles of data protection law - define legal issues related to surveillance society |
This course is adresses wide range of legal problems related to personal data protection. In this context, the course deals with the relationship between data protection, surveillance and information society; the development of data protection law and the emergence of regulation in Turkey; privacy and surveillance in the age of Internet; personal data protection in telecommunication sector; medical data protection and also new legal and social problems arising by social networking sites. |
