Course Objectives: To study social security systems which have been established to protect workers against working life risks that may cause a loss in the working ability. To define development, instruments, legal nature, and branches of social security system and understand the basic structure and functioning of the social security system in Turkey.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1 Are aware of his/her rights and obligations in the working life.
2 Solve problems that may be faced during anytime in the course of life within the framework of social security system.
3 Identify social security practices in Turkey.
4 Compare public and private insurance systems
5 Describe development and the instruments of the social security system.
6 Identify the legal nature of the social security system
7 Identify insurance branches in the social security system
8 Identify social insurance institutions within the Turkish social security system

In this course, basic concepts of social security and ınsurance types are taught.
