Course Objectives: | The Course aims to provide in depth knowledge on the principles governing contemporary international relations. Within this framework, the course will establish the rules on fundamental principles of international law including the prohibition on the use of force, the obligation to resolve international disputes peacefully, diplomatic and sovereign immunity and international responsibility. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; I. Define The Concept of Recognition in International Law II. Recognize different types of Recognition III. Recognize the Customary Rules on State Succession IV. Recognize the various instruments of peaceful dispute resolution in international law V. Determine the rules on the use of force in International Law VI. Recognize the immunity of States and State functions VII. Analyze situations engendering the Responsibility of the State VIII. Analyze applicable situations of International Humanitarian Law IX. Determine the main concepts of the Law of the Sea X. Evaluate the legal framework of contemporary international relations |
